Mullen Hardware and Supply 1987 Deanna Isom Co-owner

Joe Isom and Deanna Roof were married
in 1971 in Denver, Colorado. Joe was em-
ployed at a cabinet shop there until 1974,
when they returned to Joe's hometown of
Mullen, Nebraska.

Here, Joe and his father, John Isom (a
lifetime resident of the area) began Isom
Dragline Service. In 1983, John retired and
Joe has continued to operate the business on
his own.

Deanna worked for the Hooker County
Tribune and Baldwin Hardware in Mullen
until their first son, Gary was born.

In 1981, Joe and Deanna purchased
Baldwin Hardware from Cecil and Stella
Baldwin. They moved the store to a building
located east of the Post Office. It was
renamed Mullen Hardware and Supply. The
store is a very progressive addition to the
Mullen business district.
