Mike as the owner of the Hooker County Drug Store

Mike and Darlene Sylvan purchased Hook-
er County Drug from Charles Patch in August
of 1978. They and their two sons, Michael and
Matthew moved into the former Eva Hager
home. During the next five years, Mike
managed the Drug Store and Pharmacy.
Darlene taught in the elementary school. Due
to the lack of a permanent doctor, Mike
closed the Pharmacy during the summer of
1982 and the family moved to North Platte
where they purchased Sylvan's Center Phar-
macy.

Each member of the family has their own
special memories of the Sandhills and Mul-
len.
