GORSUCH, ARTHUR J. AND MABLE EDNA (LELACHEUR)

Arthur J. Gorsuch and Mabel Edna LeLa-
Cheur were married on January 9, 1925. Ten
children were born to this couple. Raymond,
Viola, Lois, Wayne, Dorothy, Frances, Lloyd,
Paul, Opal, and one son died in infancy. Art
and Edna lived on ranches north of Mullen
and Seneca while the children were growing
up and Art went all the way to Scottsbluff,
Nebraska to work in the sugar beet factory
to help out in hard times. In the later years,
they moved into Mullen and Art worked for
Franke Construction. In his last years, he and
Edna moved to Rapid City, South Dakota
and helped their daughter and son-in-law,
Dorothy and Frank Boyer with the "Boyer
Water Service." They still lived in Rapid City
at the time of their deaths. Art died on May
21, 1983, and Edna died on January 14, 1985.
They have 28 grandchildren and 31 great
grandchildren.
Wayne Gorsuch was born in Mullen
1933. He attended country schools
through his 8th grade. He worked on differ-
ent ranches several years, then was drafted
into the U.S. Army in October 1953. After his
2 years duty in the service, he came back to
Mullen where he went to work for Franke
Construction and in August 1956, was
married to Janet McIntosh. They had 4
children and they all loved to rodeo and train
horses, as their dad did when he was young.
Wayne has lived on the same ranch for 24
years and owns "Gorsuch Apartments" in
Mullen. The children, Marvin, age 30, works
on the railroad, Alan, age 28, works as a
airplane mechanic on Northwest Airlines,
Loren, age 21, works on a ranch out of
Whitman, and Karen, age 15, is a sophomore
in Mullen High School. He and Janet have 3
grandchildren.
