Robert Charles (Robb) Isom was born
1954 in Mullen, Nebraska to Paul
Marion Isom and Marion Belle (Pearman)
Isom. Robb's parental grandparents are
Charles T. Isom and Mattie (Carr) Isom. His
material grandparents are Robert Pearman
and Rena (Allen) Neisius.
Robb, along with his older brother Larry
Lee, was raised in Mullen where he attended
Mullen Public Schools. During the last three
years of High School, Robb played lead guitar
in a Country and Western band named the
Midnight Wranglers, along with Alan
Hodges, Marilyn Patch, Gary Patch, and the
last year, Bruce Bader. The band played for
local dances as well as various school func-
tions. In 1972, Robb graduated from Mullen
High School.
Upon graduation from high school, Robb
moved to Denver, Colorado where he enrolled
in Denver Automotive and Diesel College. In
December of 1973, he graduated from there
as a certified automotive technician. Robb
worked in the Denver area as a mechanic
until June of 1974 at which time he returned
to Nebraska to help his Dad. During the
summer and fall, Robb worked for Franke
Construction Company. In November, he
returned to Denver where he was once again
employed as a mechanic.
In 1975, Robb went to work for an auto
parts store in Aurora, Colorado as the
assistant manager. He worked in this capa-
city until the spring of 1976 when he moved
to Albuquerque, New Mexico. There he went
to work for Cutter Flying Service where he
was parking, refueling, and performing minor
maintenance on light, general aviation air-
craft. It was at this time that Robb was able
to fulfill a life-long dream and earn his
private pilot license.
In November of 1976, at the request of a
friend, Robb moved to Las Vegas, Nevada
where he took the job as manager of a locally
owned auto parts store in Henderson (neigh-
boring town). It was there that he met his
wife, Marian, who was the secretary and
bookkeeper for the business. In May of 1977,
Robb changed his employment to Charleston
Auto Parts in Las Vegas.
On November 4, 1977, Robb was united in
marriage to Marian Keele, daughter of David
Rue Keele and Renee (Ewell) Keele of
Henderson, Nevada. Robb and Marian lived
in a small apartment in Las Vegas until June
of 1978 at which time they purchased a home.
A brief moment of joy was given to Robb
and Marian on 1978 when an
infant daughter, Amanda Lynn, was born to
them. The joy quickly turned to sorrow when
six short hours after birth, Amanda Lynn
stopped breathing. Five days after her ar-
rival, on 1979, Amanda Lynn Isom
departed this life and returned to her Father
in Heaven.
On 1980, Robb and Marian were
blessed with another child. This time, it was
a bouncing baby boy named Andrew Robert
(Andy). (Dad's little buddy and his Grandad
Isom's little partner.)
In March of 1981, Robb left Charleston
Auto Parts and went to work for Motor Rim
and Wheel, a large auto and truck warehouse
in Las Vegas. Shortly thereafter, Robb
became warehouse manager for the wholesale
parts division.
On 1983 another child was born
to Robb and Marian. This time, once again,
a precious baby girl, Melissa Dawn. Andy now
had a sister.
July of 1984, Robb went back to school to
obtain an education in electronics. Shortly
thereafter, in September, he was laid off from
Motor Rim and Wheel. As Robb attended
classes full time, Marian, even though expect-
ing a baby, supported the family by cleaning
houses and selling Avon.
1985 brought more happiness to
the family when a baby girl, Emily Marie, was
born. Just like her sister Melissa, she was a
Daddy's girl.
April 4, 1986, Robb graduated from college
with an Associated of Applied Science degree
in Electronics Engineering Technology.
Three days later, he went to work for Ford
Aerospace and Communications Services Inc.
as radar technician. This job required Robb
and his family to relocate, so in June of 1986,
they moved to Tonopah, Nevada, a small
community about two hundred miles north-
west of Las Vegas.
1987 at Sunrise Hospital in Las
Vegas, Nevada, where his brother and all of
his sisters were delivered, a boy, James Allen
Isom was born to Robb and Marian.
Robb is still currently employed by Ford
Aerospace as a lead technician where he
operates and maintains a radar system
training fiight crews from air bases all over
the world.
Robb and his wife Marian, and their four
children, Andy, Melissa, Emily, and James
currently live in Tonopah, Nevada.
