PEARSON, MAY BELLE (ANDERSON)

Nels and May (Anderson) Pearson 1914 at Alliance, Nebraska.
May B. Pearson, (Anderson), was born
October 29, 1890 at Weston, Nebraska to
"Toby" and Anna Anderson.
May lived with her parents and brother
Ralph in Omaha, Nebraska, where she re-
ceived a portion of her education. She was
baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith
in Omaha, Nebraska on June 14, 1904.
In the year of 1904, she accompanied her
family to a farm, 22 miles south of North
Platte, Nebraska. She completed her educa-
tion at a rural school near their new home. In
1912, she moved with her family to a ranch
southwest of Mullen, Nebraska. She filed on
a homestead, Sec. 1, Twp. 23N. Rng. 34W.
May was blessed with many feminine
talents and pursued the millinery trade as a
part time hobby and was also sought after as
a practical nurse; caring for many ill people
and also assisting at the birth of many babies.
On March 11, 1914, she was united in
marriage to Nels H. Pearson at Alliance,
Nebraska. They had no children of their own
but cared for and provided a home for Erik
levine from the time Erik was 22 months old.
Nels died in July, 1941 and is buried at
Cedarview Cemetery at Mullen, Nebraska.
May was a homemaker - loved to cook and
crochet. She assisted in the operation of all
the ranches she resided on with her husband
and later with her parents.
She retired with her brother, Ralph, and
moved to Mullen in September, 1951. Her
last year was spent in Pioneer Nursing Home
in Mullen and died November 29, 1973. She
is buried in the family plot in North Platte,
Nebraska.
