BUECHLER, CECIL AND OPAL (PRINDLE)

Cecil Arthur Buechler was the fifth child
of John and Jeannette Buechler. He was born
on the river ranch 4 1/2 miles north of Mullen,
land now owned by Sam Simonson. Cecil
graduated from Mullen High School in 1941,
worked on ranches around Mullen, then went
into the Navy in 1944. His time in the Navy
was spent on an air craft carrier. Upon his
return home, he and his brother Dewayne
and Stan Barent owned rodeo stock together.
In 1947, Cecil married Opal Alta Prindle.
Cecil worked on ranches for awhile, then
moved to Mullen and started carpentering
with Frank Fitzgerald. Later he worked for
Bill McIntosh and he and Opal ran the
Mullen Vets' Club for five years.
Cecil and Opal had three children Cecilia,
married Neal haward and they have three
children, Cee Cee Lynn, Mark Andrew and
Kimberly Nicole. They live in Mullen. Son,
Edward married Caryle Covalt, Ed has two
children, Tanya Ranee and Travis Ray. They
live in Wyoming. Rosalie married Jim Over-
street and they have three children, Joy
Lynn, Robert Edward and Dever Cecil. The
family live in Ogallala.
When the children were grown, Cecil went
into construction work for Missouri Valley.
they did lots of traveling around from job to
job during the summer time, the spent the
winters in Grand Island, Nebraska. After ten
years, they moved to ogallala and Cecil
worked for the Simon Construction Com-
pany. They moved to North Platte, Nebraska
in 1983.
In June of 1987, Cecil and Opal and Cecilia
and Neal Hayward bought the Mullen Fertil-
izer Plant in Mullen. The Buechlers moved
to Mullen in September 1987 to make their
home.
