Lewis and Janet Cooley, Wedding - May 10, 1941


Janet Lydia, daughter of Ira Lewis and
Alice (Rheimheimer) Elliott, born April 9,
1904 at McCook, Nebr. Her parents moved
to Traer, Kansas in 1908, then to Bushnell,
Ne. in 1917. Janet attended grade school at
Traer, Kan. and Bushnell, Ne. They moved
to Cherry Co. in 1919. She took her first year
of High School at the Virginia School, the
teacher was Gussie Osborne. She finished her
High School years at Mullen High School in
1923. Her mother Alice, came from Germany
when she was 5 years old.

Janet married Lynn "Pete" Boyer July 5,
1923, son of Fields and Alice (Osborne) Boyer
at Thedford, Nebr. They lived in Cherry Co.
To this union two children were born Betty
and Eugene "Gene". Pete passed away May
20, 1971.

Janet married Lewis Cooley, son of John-
son and Elizabeth (Mann) Cooley, May 10,
1941 at Hyannis, Ne. Lewis attended school
at Hecla, Nebr. and did Contracting and
Carpenter work in Mullen until 1961. Then
from 1963-1970 he was night man at the
Mullen Light Plant.

Janet worked at the Hooker County Lib-
rary for 11 years, and was also President of
the library. A member of the United Method-
ist Women, a Past Noble Grand of Mullen
Rebekah Lodge and Good Will Extension
Club.

Lewis and Janet were both baptized in the
M.E. Church and become members on March
19, 1953. Lewis was born Aug. 3, 1899 at
Hecla, Nebr. Passed away Dec. 25, 1974.

Betty married Denzel Barth in 1940. They
have three daughters Betty Ann, Barbara and
Winnie. Denzel passed away March 2, 1985.
Betty resides at Alda, Nebr.

Eugene married Irene Warren in 1946.
They have 3 sons Allen, Gary and Steven.
They live on the ranch near Gordon, Nebr.

Janet resides in her home at Mullen, Ne.
