Mullen School Auditorium 1987 "Lariat"

Mullen's Auditorium was built by Hank
Hohlfeld at an estimated cost of $100,000. It
was leased to the Mullen School district for
$10,000 per year for ten years. It was used for
the first time by the Junior Class play
November 9th, 1959 and the American
Legion held their observance of Veterans Day
on Wednesday November 11, 1959.

In addition to the combined auditorium
and gymnasium, the building contains a
bowling alley, also an apartment on the 2nd
floor at the east end of the gymnasium.

The outside dimension of the building is
120' x 150'. The gymnasium floor is 80' x 113'
with 20' 4" ceiling. The stage is 80' x 28' in
size, while the opening is 40' x 28' Dressing
rooms are beneath the stage and there is
storage space under the 2nd floor at the east
end.

Mullen purchased this building from Mr.
Hohlfeld and now it belongs to the Mullen
School District where the school's activities
take place and other community affairs.
