Lowell Dwayne Andersen, eldest son of Dwayne Neils and Nadene Audrey (Anspach) Andersen was born Date-xxx in Alliance, Nebraska. He grew up on the family ranch 7 miles north of Seneca, Nebraska with his parents and 4 brothers, Dean & Allen (twins), Randy and Darrell. Lowell attended country school 1 mile south of the ranch until 6th grade. The school was moved 2 miles east by the Van Deusen place, where he attended 6th-8th grades. In 1961 he attended high school in Thedford, Nebraska, graduating May 1966. Lowell enlisted in the U.S. Navy and left for basic training in San Diego, California, in June, 1966. After basic he served at NAAS Whiting Field near Milton, Florida until his discharge June 1969.

May 18, 1968 in the Catholic Church, Mullen, Nebraska, he married his high school sweetheart, Judy Kay Wernke. Judy was born Date-xxx in Alliance, Nebraska to Raymond William and Shirley Maxine (Perrin) Wernke. She attended Catholic school in Alliance until 2nd grade, then the fall of 1958 the family moved to Thedford where her Dad (Ray) worked in the Citizen State Bank. Judy has 2 brothers, Mike and Ron, one sister Jeanie Whitaker. Judy at-tended the rest of her grade school and high school in Thedford, the Thomas County High School.

After marriage, Lowell and Judy moved to Milton, Florida in '68, for 13 months, until Lowell as discharged in '69. They moved back to Nebraska and worked for Tim Wiese on a ranch northwest of Brownlee, Nebraska for 10 months, then for Sandhill Oil Co. Thed-ford summer '70. Fall of 1970, they worked for Red Mercure and some at the Thedford Livestock Sale Barn. In January '71, Lowell worked for Schmoker Chev. & Olds in Mullen, when they bought their mobile home in which they still reside (at this writing). Februray 1975 they moved trailer & all to Hyannis, Nebraska to work for Dale Dyer Feed Co. In May '77 they won an all expense paid trip to Hawaii for 8 days, which was a very enjoyable trip! August 14, 1980 a move was made back to Mullen. Lowell and Larry Reynolds started their own car repair busi-ness, L&L Sales and Service, September 22, downtown Mullen in the old Carlson Implem-ent Building. Lowell is very active in the community, a volunteer fireman in Mullen since '71 and elected Fire Chief in '85, of the Mullen Volunteer Fire Department and still holds the position. He is also an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) and takes calls every other week. During the schooI season he drives a school bus 5 days a week for the Mullen Public School System plus his mechanic work at the shop. Since November 1984 Judy worked in the Laundry depart-ment of the Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Mullen, also worked for the Stella Baldwin, “Di-Anns Flowers''. Judy served 3 years on the Hooker County Agriculture Society.

Lowell's paternal grandparents are Anna (Crawford) and the late Neils Andersen of Seneca, and Maternal grandparents the Arnold and Louise (Merz) Anspach, from Seneca. Judy's maternal grandparents are the late Virgil and Velma (Lewis) Perrin from Hyannis, and paternts grandparents are the late Henry and Agnes Wernke from South Dakota. Judy's mother, Shirley (Perrin) Wernke was born in Alberta, Canada, mater-nal Great-grandparents Henry & Alice Perrin, who built a sod house 16 miles south of Whitman, Nebraska. The soddy still stands.

Lowell and Judy have 2 children, Terri 18 and Kevin 15. Terri Lynn was born Date-xxx in Milton, Florida. She attended schools in Hyannis and Mullen. She was on the Honor Club, National Honor Society, Annual Staff Editor and active in all athletic activities, FHA, Class Secretary-Treasurer, and was in the “Miss Teen of Nebraska'' Pageant in Columbus, Nebraska, June '84. She was Class Saluatorian from Mullen High School, May 17, 1986. She is now going to college in San Antonio, Texas, majoring in the field of Radiation Therapy. Terri is spending her spring break (March 1987) from college in London, England with her fiance, Joe Sharp, who is stationed there with the U.S. Air Force. They plan to be married in the fall of 1988.

Kevin Kyle was born Date-xxx in Mullen. He attnded schools in Hyannis and is currently a sophomore in the Mullen High School. He is very active in basketball, football, golf and a wrestler from age 6-12. He is Treasurer of the 4-H Trapshooters, “Trigger Fingers''. He loves to work on car engines with his Dad. Terri and Kevin have both had summer jobs in the hay fields. Terri started working out the summer she was 12 and later worked part time in the Mullen Nursing Home one summer and during the school term on weekends after 16. Kevin started working out the summer he was 13 to work for Butch Labore, the Mullen Veteri-nary, his first summer job he made $1200.

Terri and Kevin spend time in many forms of recreation with their friends. They have enjoyed their family and their time with friends in Mullen tremendously. They are very happy and proud to be a part of such a friendly, sharing and caring community. The Andersen family have enjoyed sharing many activities together.
